Emily Lund was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Communications at the University of Utah which propelled her into a corporate career in marketing for nearly five years. Looking to give back to her community, Emily took time off from her career to spend 18 months serving a voluntary mission for her Church in Mesa, AZ. Emily's time in Arizona further peaked her interest in immigration law as she was exposed to many individuals and families touched by its policies and procedures. At the conclusion of her voluntary service, Emily decided to attend law school. She studied law at the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.
While studying law at Brigham Young University, Emily took part in a number of professional experiences. She clerked for the Honorable Judge David Sam at the United States District Court for the District of Utah in Salt Lake City, interned for the Ministry of Justice in Madrid, Spain, and clerked in Phoenix, Arizona for Smith, Alston, Lee, PLLC where she gained valuable experience in deportation proceedings and detention center work.
Throughout law school, Emily was the president of BYU's Graduate Student Society which facilitated cooperation and corroboration across over 96 graduate degree programs at the University. Emily also participated in BYU's community clinic generating nearly 150 hours of pro bono work, as well as BYU's International Law and Religion Symposium. Emily was an active student member of the Utah Minority Bar Association and American Immigration Lawyers Association.
Emily Lund first joined Stowell, Crayk & Bown as a law clerk in January 2019. She has since transitioned to an attorney since her swearing in to the Utah bar in October 2019.
