Douglas Stowell graduated from Utah State University with a degree in finance, with minors in economics and accounting. After college, Mr. Stowell was employed for ten years as a licensed, series seven stockbroker with a member of the New York Stock Exchange.
 
Mr. Stowell returned to school and in 1993, received a law degree from the University of Utah. Thereafter, Mr. Stowell entered private practice and has developed a broad range of expertise, having been employed with an insurance defense firm and thereafter, a municipal tort liability and white collar criminal defense firm.
 
In 1996, Mr. Stowell founded this law firm. In 2005, Mr. Crayk joined Mr. Stowell joined to make the current law firm Stowell Crayk PLLC.
 
Mr. Stowell has served as a small claims court judge in Third District Court, State of Utah, Murray Division. Mr. Stowell has been honored in Utah Business Magazine as top lawyer in the area of Criminal Defense. Mr. Stowell’s practice focuses in the area of criminal defense, real estate, contract and business disputes, family law and personal injury.
 
One of the staples of the law firm of Stowell Crayk has been its representation of indigent criminal defendants in mulitiple municipalities along the Wasatch Front. This experience has allowed each member of the law firm of Stowell Crayk to participate in a vast number of trials and hearings in court, thereby providing them extensive litigation experience.
